Iona Man-Cheong

- Research Interests
- Associate Professor in the History Department, an affiliate of the Cultural studies program and the Women's Studies program, and a member of the Humanities Institute Advisory Board. Her major field of expertise is Late Imperial (Ming-Qing period) and modern China. Her current research interests focus on migration and the Chinese Diaspora, especially relating to Britain and the production of British identity; Chinese maritime history and transnationalism; and the development of the Chinese community in Britain. Her previous research has included a socio-cultural study of imperial Chinese examination system; and women and gender in Chinese history.
