- Research Interests
- I do early-modern Ireland, Britain, and Continental Europe in ascending, or descending (depending upon how you look at it!) order. As the area expands, my knowledge thins, but I started as an historian of England, got interested in the Anglo-Irish relationship, and now find myself embroiled in "The Irish Reformation in European Perspective". It's early-modern Ireland and England that I know most about, but I'm up to my eye-brows in the European Reformation, now, and I have a secret interest in the history of Ireland in the twentieth century (but don't tell anyone!)
