The Long Island Historical Journal is an annual peer-reviewed journal dedicated to publishing original studies of any aspect of Long Island history. We welcome article submissions concerning all aspects of Long Island history and life, including topics exploring environmental, social, cultural, political, ethnic, and economic issues. Our definition of Long Island includes the four counties of Kings, Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk, a region rich in history.

The Long Island Historical Journal (ISSN: 0898-7084) is a reader-supported journal that is published once a year at the subscription price of $20 per year for individuals and $40 for institutions. The LIHJ sponsors an annual Student Contest for High School and College students. Articles on any topic in Long Island history are welcome. Winners in each category will have their article published the the Journal, and receive a complimentary copy.
